My Background
Guyanese born and raised, but a true West Indian at heart. I am a Queen’s College Guyana Scholar who has spent almost all of his life living and working in the Caribbean towards the improvement of the lives of Guyanese and the Caribbean Community at large. I am an educated extrovert who is outgoing and loves a great cultural experience.

I was born and raised in Guyana, South America, where I received my primary and secondary education, but I have spent most of my adult life outside of Guyana. I love traveling, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, and the outdoors - oceans, rivers, lakes, forests and national parks.

I lived and worked in the British Virgin Islands for 15½ years until Hurricane Irma forced me to leave the island. While there I spent most of my recreation time sailing (not in the traditional sense) around the beautiful islands that make up the British Virgin Islands.

I am currently back in Guyana where I live and work. I am enjoying the country life, because I live in the countryside, while travelling around the counrty on the many hoildays that we have here.

Professional Experience

After completing my Advance Level Examinations at the age of 18, I have held the following jobs:

  •  Interim Manager/Manager at the Centre for Information Technology at the Universiy of Guyana, from October 2017 to present.
  •  Assistant Chief Examiner for Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination, CAPE®, Computer Science, from February 2018 to present.
  •  Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, British Virgin Island for more than 15 years, from January 2002.
  •  Systems Analyst/Engineer at the Ministry of Finance, Guyana for almost six years, from September 1995.
  •  CSR/Teller at the National Bank of Industry and Commerce, Guyana (Republic Bank) for one year from August 1991.

I have a natural knack for IT project management, in addition to which I love programming and designing and developing database applications and websites. I have worked on numerous programming, database and web design projects spanning the almost 20 years since I graduated. Some of businesses that I have consulted and created applications and websites for are no longer in operation and some of them still use my applications:

  •  fsibvi.com - A website for the financial services institute of the British Virgin Islands.
  •  Freducal - A freight and duty calculator and database for a mailbox operator in the BVI.
  •  sealionbvi.com - A website for a BVI charter and tour company.
  •  Logicart - A logistics and cargo tracking database for freight forwarding companies.
  •  victoriouslivingsxm.org - A website for a not for profit community outreach organization.

You can learn more about the consulting work that I do.

Education

I have two honors degrees, including a Masters, and internationally recognized certifications in database development and administration, and university teaching and learning:

  •  CUTL (July 2012)
  •  CMDEV (July 2008)
  •  CMDBA (June 2008)
  •  MS (Hon) (March 2006)
  •  BEng. (Hon) (June 1995)

Other Stuff

I have visited numerous islands in the Caribbean experiencing the richness, diversity and warmth of West Indian Culture. It's hard to say which is my favorite island because each island has it's own beauty and peculiarity. However, in my opinion, the British Virgin Islands is the best for sailing and diving, St. Maarten the best for duty free shopping and gambling, and Trinidad and Guyana the best for partying.
